Abstract: Nursing auditing is a "systematic evaluation of the quality of nursing care, verified through the nursing notes in the patient's chart and/or the patient's own conditions. The aim of the study is to describe nursing auditing in hospital accounts, with the aim of analyzing the functionality of electronic systems in promoting care practice. The methodology is a study carried out through a bibliographic review, published in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) between 2017 and 2022. The results show that nursing auditing critically considers the quality of care provided and compares care with pre-established standards of care and use of resources, stimulating changes whenever necessary. Conclusions: The importance of nursing records in the patient care process and in the auditing of hospital accounts is therefore evident. It is necessary that the notes on nursing practices are always adequate and complete so that the whole team operates efficiently, providing qualified and effective care.
