ATUAÇÃO DA FISIOTERAPIA VISUAL FRENTE AOS TRATAMENTOS DO GLAUCOMA: UMA REVISÃO DE LITERATURA
Introdução: O glaucoma é uma neuropatia óptica de causa multifatorial que apresenta como principal característica a elevação da pressão intraocular e dano ao disco óptico ou camada de fibras nervosas da retina. A restrição nas atividades motoras decorrentes do avanço da patologia promove um atraso no desenvolvimento bem como um comprometimento da qualidade de vida do individuo. Objetivo: Investigar a atuação da fisioterapia na estimulação visual no glaucoma. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo de revisão de literatura do tipo integrativa, no qual após a aplicação dos critérios de inclusão, foram selecionados 6 artigos publicados entre 2005 e 2018, na língua portuguesa e inglesa, relacionados aos tratamentos da estimulação visual no glaucoma publicados nas bases de dados eletrônicos do PUBmed, Scielo, LILACS e Google Academic, que apresentaram pelo menos dois dos seguintes operadores boleanos: Physiotherapy and glaucoma, visão and fisioterapia e Physiotherapy and visual stimulation. Resultados e Discussão: Nos estudos foram avaliados vários protocolos de tratamento onde os selecionados foram: associação entre tens e acupuntura, estimulação elétrica transcorneal em GPAA e terapia combinada entre tratamento medico/cirúrgico, todos apresentando melhora na redução da PIO, e as demais, redução não só da PIO como em dores de cabeça e redução em déficits funcionais. Além de proporcionar estímulos no desenvolvimento neuropsicomotor, na correção postural, conhecimento do próprio corpo, estímulos a aspectos cognitivos primários e secundários, coordenação motora fina e grossa. Considerações Finais: Os estudos selecionados mostram a eficácia da estimulação visual na sintomatologia e na progressão da patologia. No entanto é importante salientar que as terapêuticas precisam andar em conjunto com abordagem multiprofissional, uma vez que os tratamentos separadamente não produzem o mesmo custo-benefício nem reduz de forma significativa a patologia base.

Abstract:
Introduction: Glaucoma is a multifactorial optic neuropathy that has as its main characteristic elevated intraocular pressure and damage to the optic disc or layer of retinal nerve fibers. The restriction in motor activities resulting from the progression of the pathology, promote a delay in development as well as a compromise of the quality of life of the individual. Objective: To investigate the performance of physical therapy in visual stimulation in glaucoma. Methodology. This is a literature review study of the integrative type. In which after the application of the inclusion criteria, 6 articles published between 2005 and 2018 in Portuguese and English were selected, related to the visual stimulation treatments in glaucoma. Published in the electronic databases of pubmed, scielo, LILACS and google academic, which presented at least two of the following Boolean operators: Physiotherapy and glaucoma, vision and physiotherapy. RESULTS: In the studies, several treatment protocols were evaluated in which the selected ones were: association between tension and acupuncture, transcorneal electrical stimulation in APAG and combined therapy between medical / surgical treatment, all of them presenting improvement in IOP reduction, and the other reduction not only IOP as in headaches and reduction in functional deficits. In addition to providing stimuli in the neuropsychomotor development, in the postural correction, knowledge of the body itself, stimuli to primary and secondary cognitive aspects, fine and coarse motor coordination. Final considerations: Selected studies show the efficacy of visual stimulation in symptomatology and progression of pathology. However, it is important to emphasize that therapies need to go hand in hand with a multiprofessional approach, since the treatments separately do not produce the same cost-benefit nor does it significantly reduce the underlying pathology.
