Atuação da fisioterapia em cuidados paliativos: uma revisão integrativa da literatura
RESUMO: Os cuidados paliativos se baseiam na assistência à pessoa com doença grave, progressiva e que ameaça a continuidade da vida. Nesse contexto, a fisioterapia pode atuar na prevenção, reabilitação, recuperação da saúde e ser, significativamente, importante para pacientes que se enquadram nessa esfera. Seu objetivo foi analisar a atuação da fisioterapia em cuidados paliativos. O presente estudo se trata de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, com coleta de dados realizada nas bases eletrônicas: Lilacs, Scielo e Medline. Foram cruzados com o operador booleano and, os descritores: “fisioterapia” e “cuidados paliativos”. Os critérios de inclusão foram: estudos completos, publicados em português, inglês ou espanhol, entre os anos de 2010 e 2020 e disponíveis na íntegra. No que tange ao critério de exclusão, estabeleceu-se: artigos não pertinentes ao tema. Após a busca, foram identificados 71 estudos e ao final, selecionados somente 11. Verificou-se que a fisioterapia coopera amplamente para o tratamento, bem-estar e oferta de qualidade de vida aos enfermos, encontrando-se paulatinamente presente nas discussões sobre a assistência em cuidados paliativos. Conquanto, a atuação dos fisioterapeutas nesta área ainda estreita muitas questões bioéticas, haja vista, a temática, morte e o processo do morrer, não é suficientemente explorada durante a sua formação profissional. Assim, notou-se que as condutas fisioterapêuticas de drenagem linfática manual, para diminuição de linfedema; técnicas de higiene brônquica, para melhoria da função pulmonar, cinesioterapia, para minimização dos efeitos de inatividade, exercícios ativos, liberação miofascial e facilitação neuromuscular proprioceptiva (PNF) para melhora de fadiga muscular e dentre outras, mostraram aplicabilidade nessa fase. Porém, por incipiência de estudos, sugere-se o desenvolvimento de mais pesquisas científicas nesse âmbito.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT: Palliative care is based on assistance to people with a serious, progressive disease that threatens the continuity of life. In this context, physiotherapy can act in prevention, rehabilitation, health recovery and be significantly important for patients who fall into this sphere. Your objective was to analyze the performance of physiotherapy in palliative care. The present study is an integrative literature review, with data collection performed on the electronic databases: Lilacs, Scielo and Medline. The descriptors: "physiotherapy" and "palliative care" were crossed with the Boolean operator and. The inclusion criteria were: complete studies, published in Portuguese, English or Spanish, between 2010 and 2020 and available in full. The exclusion criteria, it was established: articles not relevant to the theme. After the search, 71 studies were identified and at the end, only 11 were selected. It was found that physical therapy cooperates for the treatment, well-being and offering quality of life to the needed, being present in the discussions on assistance in palliative care. However, the performance of physiotherapists in this area still narrows many bioethical issues, considering that the theme “death” and the process of dying is not sufficiently explored at their professional training. Therefore, it was noted that the physical therapies conducts of manual lymphatic drainage, to decrease lymphedema; bronchial hygiene techniques, to improve lung function; kinesiotherapy, to minimize the effects of inactivity; active exercises, myofascial release and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) to improve muscle fatigue and among others, have shown applicability in this phase. However, due to the lack of studies, it is suggested the development of more scientific research in this area.
