Abstract: Anxiety has been studied due to its importance as an individual's natural reaction, mainly linked to the survival instinct. However, when reaching high levels, it can become harmful to the individual, making it difficult to resolve conflicts on a daily basis in society. This research sought to identify which activities generate more or less anxiety in psychology students at a community university in southern Brazil. This is research with a descriptive objective, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, configuring the mixed method. In the first stage, we applied a quantitative questionnaire to psychology students using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and, in the second qualitative stage, a semi-structured interview was conducted with the course coordinator. The hypothesis that different models of evaluative activities generate different levels of anxiety was confirmed. This study contributes to the understanding of how activities influence academic performance and reinforces the need to develop strategies for transmitting and evaluating knowledge considering students' mental health and their anxiety states.
