Abstract: The use of anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) has grown significantly among bodybuilders, driven by the search for quick results in physical and aesthetic performance. This Course Completion Work aims to investigate the role of the pharmacist in promoting the rational use of these substances, with a focus on preventing adverse effects and raising awareness about the risks associated with abusive use. This is an integrative literature review, which analyzed publications available in the PubMed, SciELO and LILACS databases, covering the period of the last five years (2019 to 2024). This time frame was defined to include more recent studies aligned with current practices, providing an updated analysis on the topic. The results show that the inappropriate use of EAA can cause serious impacts on health, including cardiovascular, hepatic and psychological changes. The study highlights that the role of the pharmacist is essential to prevent these damages, through educational actions, clinical monitoring and integration into multidisciplinary teams. It is concluded that the pharmacist plays an indispensable role in health promotion, highlighting the importance of preventive strategies and health education to minimize the impacts of the indiscriminate use of steroids
