Abstract: This study analyzes the role of pharmacists in neighborhood drugstores, which are recognized as part of the community pharmacy model, emphasizing humanized care and clinical practice as tools for health promotion. It is a narrative, qualitative, and descriptive literature review. The results show that drugstores are health establishments with significant territorial coverage in Brazil, playing a fundamental role in public access to pharmaceutical services, especially in underserved and peripheral regions. Law No. 13.021/2014 and Resolutions No. 585 and 586/2013 of the Federal Council of Pharmacy consolidated clinical practice and strengthened the recognition of pharmacists as integral healthcare providers. Evidence indicates improvements in treatment adherence, reduction of chronic disease complications, and strengthening of the bond between professional and patient through qualified listening and empathy. It is concluded that pharmacists working in neighborhood drugstores serve as essential links between the community and the healthcare system, contributing to the rational use of medicines, patient safety, and the reduction of inequalities in access to primary care. Furthermore, the expansion of clinical studies is considered essential to scientifically consolidate these benefits and further strengthen the recognition of pharmacists within the healthcare system.
