ATENÇÃO A PACIENTES ONCOLÓGICOS NO SISTEMA ÚNICO DE SAÚDE: REFLEXÕES SOBRE O DIREITO À VIDA
O presente estudo tem o objetivo de refletir acerca do agir em saúde, analisando as
políticas públicas existentes voltadas para os pacientes com câncer e o seu atendimento
no Sistema Único de Saúde. Assim, o norte da discussão é a oferta de tratamento, o
papel da atenção primária e a capacitação dos profissionais de saúde e da assistência
social no acolhimento dos pacientes com câncer. Destarte, os profissionais são os
responsáveis, direta e indiretamente, pela realização de um cuidado em saúde seguro,
ético e com qualidade, sendo, portanto, agentes viabilizadores da efetivação do
tratamento necessário dos pacientes. Assim, o artigo revelou o desafio dos profissionais
da saúde em realizar o cuidado integral, integrado e humano com o paciente oncológico,
em especial, a falta de estrutura do sistema único de saúde para lidar com esses
pacientes, carecendo de fortalecimento da atenção voltada a essa parcela da população,
em especial, no que tange ao agir em saúde, consagrando o direito à vida e a saúde
assegurado pela Constituição Federal.

Abstract:
This study aims to reflect about the action in health, analyzing the existing public
policies for cancer patients and their care in the Unified Health System. Thus, the north
of the discussion is the offer of treatment, the role of primary care and the training of
health and social assistance professionals in the reception of cancer patients. Therefore,
the professionals are directly and indirectly responsible for providing safe, ethical, and
quality health care, and are therefore the agents that make it possible to provide the
necessary treatment for patients. Thus, the article revealed the challenge of health
professionals in performing integral, integrated and humane care with cancer patients,
especially the lack of structure of the single health system to deal with these patients,
lacking strengthening of the attention directed to this portion of the population,
especially with regard to acting in health, enshrining the right to life and health assured
by the Federal Constitution.
