Abstract: Introduction: One of the main complications associated with the aging process is the prevalence of non-communicable chronic diseases (NCDs), which has been intensified by sedentary behavior. Given this scenario, it is essential to implement preventive and health promotion measures in order to mitigate the progression of these diseases. In this context, a In this context, the community project MOVASE was established has emerged, with its core focus on encouraging the continuous practice of physical exercise and disseminating information on healthy habits. Objective: The aim of this study is to analyze variables such as family income to understand how these factors are related to the adoption of healthy behaviors. Methods: A total of 43 older adults were selected (60.64 ± 8.64 years; 82.4 ± 23.14 kg; 152 ± 0.06 cm; 35 ± 15.55 kg/m²), including 42 women and 1 man, all participants of the MOVASE community project were actively engaged in the initiative A survey was administered via Google Forms using the lifestyle questionnaire proposed by Nahas (2017), distributed through the WhatsApp application. This questionnaire provides guiding questions for the study, including personal information and socioeconomic level, perception of preventive health level and stress management, dietary habits and weight control, use of free time and habitual level of physical activity, health risk behaviors, and stage of behavior change. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS version 9.0 for Windows. The procedures conducted included frequency distribution, means, and dispersion. For the measurement of association between categorical variables, the Chi-square test was used. A significance level of 5% was adopted. Results: Regarding demographic characteristics, the data revealed that the majority were married (39.5%), had up to three children (30.2%), and most had a family income between 3 and 5 minimum wages (53.5%). A significant association was observed between family income and engagement in leisure-time physical activity (X² = 13.25, p = 0.01), indicating that individuals earning up to 3 or between 3 and 5 minimum wages either did not include exercise in their lifestyle or only occasionally engaged in it. Additionally, a significant association was found between family income and the inclusion of five daily servings of fruits and vegetables in the diet (X² = 10.69, p = 0.03), showing that individuals with lower income levels only occasionally adhered to this behavior. Conclusion: In conclusion, the results of this study indicate a significant association between family income and the adoption of healthy behaviors among older adults. These findings suggest that family income may play a crucial role in older adults' ability to adopt healthy behaviors, possibly due to financial constraints that impact access to leisure activities and healthier food options.
