Abstract: Most pregnant women who enter the prison system start prenatal care late. Furthermore, health actions do not meet the minimum recommended by the Humanization of Childbirth and Birth program. Objective: to investigate what is being researched in postgraduate programs on prenatal care for women deprived of their liberty in Brazil. The specific objectives are: to identify in the literature the actions carried out by nurses related to preparation for labor and delivery. Method: narrative review of the literature, which answers the research question. Data were collected from the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel. 20 theses and 18 dissertations were identified, among which six dissertations met the inclusion criteria. Results: After analyzing the results, two categories were identified: prenatal care for women deprived of their liberty and conditions of prenatal care for women deprived of their liberty. Conclusion: the results of the studies in this research showed that prenatal care in Brazil does not meet the needs of pregnant women deprived of their liberty.
