Abstract: Pregnancy entails a series of responsibilities and health care, where the woman begins to observe not only herself, but also the child she is having. In addition to habits that are harmful to pregnant women's health, there are diseases that can also generate future problems, such as Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM), considered the main villain of many pregnancies. With the aim of investigating how prevention and quality of life through pharmaceutical assistance interventions can benefit women with gestational diabetes, the study method adopted was strategic research with descriptive objectives, a qualitative approach with the systematic bibliographic review procedure and research technique. exploratory study to acquire new knowledge regarding pharmaceutical assistance in women with gestational diabetes, including simultaneous analysis of the articles used as inclusion criteria, with the purpose of updating the scientific community regarding the theme of research using the descriptors “Pharmaceutical assistance ”, “Gestational diabetes” and Pharmaceutical care”. The bibliographical survey carried out revealed that the pharmacist plays a fundamental role, as he has knowledge, skills and attitudes that enable integration with the healthcare team and greater interaction with the patient, in addition, he contributes to the optimization of pharmacotherapy. In the case of gestational diabetes, the role of the pharmacist is even more relevant, as he is responsible for providing adequate guidance on medications, how to prepare and administer them, as well as guidance on personal hygiene and other aspects that contribute to improvement. of the pregnant woman's quality of life.
