The effectiveness of tuberculosis treatment is directly related to the quality of care offered to patients. Pharmaceutical assistance ranges from diagnosis to availability of essential medicines. Treatment usually involves the administration of a combination of antibiotics for a prolonged period. It is crucial to ensure patient adherence to prevent bacterial resistance and ensure cure. Pharmaceutical care plays a key role in guiding patients on the correct use of medicines, monitoring side effects and ensuring regular supply of medications. The discussion on tuberculosis and pharmaceutical care highlights the importance of health policies that promote access to quality medicines and services. The integrated approach between the multi-professional healthcare team and pharmacists is essential for the success of the treatment of tuberculosis and reduction of the impact of the disease on public health.
