ASSISTÊNCIA FARMACÊUTICA NA ATENÇÃO PRIMÁRIA AOS PACIENTES COM DIABETES
A sociedade atual apresenta uma série de particularidades, o que demanda uma intervenção multiprofissional na atenção primária à saúde (APS). O profissional farmacêutico auxilia na orientação e adesão ao tratamento farmacológico, podendo orientar o paciente quanto ao método de uso racional dos medicamentos, assim como na prescrição de fármacos isentos de receituário médico. A atuação eficaz do profissional farmacêutico contribui para a eficiência do sistema de saúde como um todo. O objetivo do presente estudo consiste em um levantamento bibliográfico, acerca das contribuições do profissional farmacêutico no tratamento do paciente com Diabetes Mellitus (DM) e, consequentemente na melhoria da qualidade de vida deste paciente. A complexidade do processo de atendimento ao que se refere à saúde-doença-cuidado, exige organização do sistema de saúde e pode ser ampliado com ações interdisciplinares, para que as necessidades da comunidade, como um todo sejam atendidas. A atuação farmacêutica pode, nesse sentido, contribuir para que o paciente possua melhor qualidade de vida e maior adesão ao tratamento, principalmente de doenças crônicas, como acontece no Diabetes Mellitus.

Abstract:
The current society presents a series of particularities, which demand a multidisciplinary intervention in primary health care (PHC). The pharmacist professional helps in the orientation and adherence to the pharmacological treatment, being able to guide the patient as to the method of rational use of medicines, as well as in the prescription of drugs exempt from medical prescription. The effective performance of the pharmaceutical professional contributes to the efficiency of the health system as a whole. The aim of this study is to conduct a bibliographical survey about the contributions of the pharmacist in the treatment of patients with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and, consequently, in improving the quality of life of this patient. The complexity of the care process with regard to health-disease-care requires organization of the health system and can be expanded with interdisciplinary actions so that the needs of the community as a whole are met. In this sense, pharmaceutical activities can contribute to the patient's having a better quality of life and greater adherence to treatment, especially for chronic diseases, such as in Diabetes Mellitus.
