Abstract: ABSTRACT. The rural environment has undergone a change in relation to the use of motorcycles, replacing riding on horseback, thanks to the ease of acquiring them and which today has become a dream of consumption for many young people. Accidents, crimes and misdemeanors involving drivers also increased; many of them underage and without a license, mainly on roads in rural areas across the country. Traffic authorities can do little to curb these problems given the number of users to the detriment of inspectors. Electoral laws also contribute that encourage the acquisition and use of them to the detriment of reducing problems. This research aimed to study causes, effects and the consequent increase in the number of motorcycles in circulation, accidents, hospitalizations, deaths from crimes and misdemeanors involving motorcycle drivers, mainly on roads in the Rural Zone of the State of Paraíba, as well as propose viable solutions that can contribute to the reduction of these problems. Among them are: adoption of Social Policies of clarification by the Public Power indicating the risks and consequences of this means of transport, mainly for children in schools in the Rural Area and the observance and compliance with traffic laws to the rest of society.
