AS TRANSMUTAÇÕES DA PAISAGEM DO RIO COCÓ.
Assim como muitos rios que transpassam ambientes urbanos, o Rio Cocó em Fortaleza tem sofrido modificações. Além das esperadas mudanças naturais, decorrentes da passagem do tempo, o recorte territorial estudado neste artigo, que corresponde à região historicamente utilizada para a extração de sal e onde se localiza hoje um trecho do Parque Urbano do Rio Cocó, passou principalmente por transformações decorrentes das ações antrópicas e de iniciativa do poder público. Dessa forma, com o objetivo de compreender as alterações na paisagem e os respectivos impactos sobre o ambiente urbano, foram analisados os aspectos paisagísticos e ecossistêmicos, examinando especificamente o recurso hídrico e a mata ciliar. Utilizando o recorte temporal desde antes do período de atividade das salinas até os dias atuais, o presente artigo busca verificar como as ações de urbanização no entorno dessa importante reserva natural da capital cearense interferiram na saúde ambiental da região.

Abstract:
Like many rivers that pass through urban environments, the Cocó River in Fortaleza has undergone modifications. Besides the expected natural changes, resulting from the passage of time, the territorial area studied in this article, which corresponds to the region historically used for salt extraction and where today is located a stretch of the Urban Park of the Cocó River, has undergone mainly transformations resulting from anthropic actions and public power initiatives. Thus, in order to understand the changes in the landscape and their respective impacts on the urban environment, the landscape and ecosystemic aspects were analyzed, specifically examining the water resource and the riparian forest. Using the time frame from before the period of activity of the saltpans to the present day, this article seeks to verify how the actions of urbanization around this important nature reserve of the capital of Ceará interfered with the environmental health of the region.
