Abstract: Gender relations and teacher education: the knowledge of managers of full-time schools in Petrolina – PE The aim of this paper is to present some questions about the gender category, its historical trajectory, concepts and inherent challenges of an unequal and misogynist society. It discusses the relevance of teacher education permeated by gender discussions. The theoretical support is based on the contributions of LOURO, SCOTT, BUTLER, PISCITELLI, MISKOLCI, FOUCAULT and TARDIF. This research was directed from Judith Butler's understanding of gender to think about how multiple gender identities are performed in school and how managers should be prepared to deal with this multiplicity of performances that is neither fixed nor immutable. It´s evident the relevance of gender studies in the sense of minimizing heteronormativity and the first step is the formation of managers, in which the theme receives little visibility, a reflection of a sexist society. From this perspective, the research is developed at the Executive Secretariat for Integral and Professional Education in the Petrolina city, Pernambuco. The research subjects are managers of state full-time public schools in Petrolina and the methodology used is the qualitative approach, anchored in Bardin's content analysis. As we move along the discursive plane there is a noticeable dichotomy between traditionalism and the need for better- doing coping with gender issues. The product of this work is an eBook that supports the construction of a plural and fairer society.
