AS REDES SOCIAIS NO PROCESSO DE BUSCA DE INFORMAÇÕES CIENTÍFICAS NO ENSINO MÉDIO: UM ESTUDO DE CASO NAS AULAS DE MICROBIOLOGIA
A busca por informações tem sido cada vez mais facilitada com as diferentes ferramentas que a internet oferece aos seus usuários. No ambiente escolar, as opções virtuais são inúmeras e facilitam a vida de alunos e professores em suas pesquisas e metodologias. As redes sociais complementam a utilização de novas ferramentas tecnológicas para a obtenção de informação e conhecimento, mas é necessário que estejamos atentos às informações que são oferecidas, especialmente na área da ciência, pois elas podem ou não ser confiáveis. Poucos são os estudos sobre esse campo e, por isso, o trabalho em questão teve como objetivo verificar os tipos de fontes que estão sendo utilizadas pelos estudantes da educação básica nas pesquisas sobre assuntos científicos. Para a coleta de dados, foram utilizados comentário e publicações de alunos do ensino médio do Instituto Federal de São Paulo, em um grupo na rede social Facebook® promovido pelo projeto “Adote um micro-organismo”. Foi desenvolvida uma análise quali-quantitativa das fontes de informação utilizadas por eles. Os alunos se utilizaram de algumas fontes confiáveis para a pesquisa científica, mas a maioria das informações veio de fontes não científicas ou duvidosas. A pesquisa demonstrou a importância de se desenvolver treinamentos eficientes para a busca de informações confiáveis na internet e com maior regularidade tanto para alunos como para professores, objetivando a conscientização deles sobre os benefícios da utilização de fontes de conhecimento seguras e os riscos que a internet pode trazer ao apresentar informações científicas duvidosas. Assim, esses jovens terão melhores condições de julgar as informações por eles recebidas de forma consciente e crítica.

Abstract:
The search for information has been facilitated by different tools that the internet offers its users. In the school environment, the virtual options are numerous and make life easier for students and teachers in their research and methodologies. Social networks complement the use of new technological tools to obtain information and knowledge, but it is necessary that we are attentive to the information that is offered, especially in the area of science, as they may or may not be reliable. There are few studies on this field and, therefore, the work in question aimed to verify the types of sources that are being used by students of basic education in research on scientific subjects. For data collection, comments and publications from high school students from the Federal Institute of São Paulo were used, in a group on the social network Facebook® promoted by the project “Adopt a micro-organism”. A qualitative and quantitative analysis of the information sources used by them was developed. The students used some reliable sources for scientific research, but most of the information came from unscientific or dubious sources. The research demonstrated the importance of developing efficient training for the search for reliable information on the internet and with greater regularity for both students and teachers, aiming to raise their awareness about the benefits of using safe knowledge sources and the risks that the internet can bring when presenting dubious scientific information. Thus, these young people will be better able to judge the information they receive consciously and critically.
