Abstract: This work aims, based on the literature review, to present concepts about One Health and Afro-diasporics for sustainability. It is not intended to cover the entire field of knowledge of Afro-Brazilian cultures or those related to single health, but to expose how codes, symbols and practices arising from African peoples, due to forced migration, can contribute to the processes of thinking, developing and activate sustainable development. It is considered important to reflect on the ways in which people were accustomed to thinking in a disciplinary way, having only one point to be observed, without looking at the environment that surrounds them. The need to build another “house” is defended, as warned by Teixeira Coelho (1994). This construction must not begin with the roof, but with the foundation, a pedagogical construction that respects diversity and creates the conditions for understanding the environment as a space for mediation of all relationships, as living systems are phenomena that intertwine, and, In view of this, it is essential to contemplate the complex themes related to unique health and sustainability. Everything is possible, as shown by unified health, if we consider the Afro-diasporic meaning and the use of agroecology as a means of giving new meaning to the time in which plural lives inhabit the world. Social ills exist, but they can be combated with multiple, transdisciplinary perspectives and with the recognition that both humans, domestic animals, wild animals, plants and the environment are interconnected and need to be considered when thinking about public policies and sustainable development.
