Abstract: This report aims to present the reading experience of the 8th and 9th grade classes with Anne Frank's Diary in the Portuguese Language subject. To support our reflections, we rely on Freire (2003), Larrosa (2002) and others. Methodologically, we make use of Cosson's (2012) didactic sequence for literary literacy. This study revealed that, when care is taken to prepare reading classes, this methodology helps to awaken people to read other upcoming works, in addition to showing that, from reading literary works, students understood the relevance of paradidactic reading in classroom and how it helps to expand our knowledge, in addition to giving new meaning to your understanding of linguistic/semiotic analysis classes.
