AS PERFORMANCES DO CARIMBÓ: CULTURA POPULAR PARAENSE E RELIGIOSIDADE
O carimbó, enquanto Cultura Popular Paraense foi reconhecido em 2014 como Patrimônio Cultural Brasileiro. Terminologia indígena, que significa Curi “pau” Imbó “oco”, que leva o nome de um instrumento musical de percussão. Nasceu a partir do entrelaçamento da cultura dos povos negros, indígenas e europeus. Essa Manifestação Cultural é repleta de sentidos e significados, em que são transmitidos os saberes ancestrais. Constitui-se como: cultura popular, música, dança, trabalho, lazer e religiosidade. O objetivo do trabalho é compreender a importância do Carimbó enquanto Performance Cultural para o povo paraense, e a sua relação entre religiosidade e transmissão de saberes. Trata-se, portanto, de um estudo no campo das Performances Culturais, visto que, o carimbó apresenta múltiplas dimensões, sendo necessário várias áreas do conhecimento para a compreensão do objeto. Qual o sentido e significado dessa cultura popular para o povo paraense? Como o carimbó se constitui enquanto religiosidade e transmissão de saberes? Optou-se por uma abordagem Qualitativa, tendo como procedimento de pesquisa um estudo de campo. O trabalho se constitui como pesquisa etnográfica densa. Esses entrelaçamentos e conflitos religiosos, presentes nessa Manifestação Cultural, ora se complementam, ora se diferem, ora resistem e
torna-se algo “novo”.

Abstract:
Carimbó, as a Popular Culture in Pará, was recognized in 2014 as a Brazilian Cultural Heritage. Indigenous terminology, which means Curi "stick" Imbó "hollow", which takes its name from a percussion musical instrument. It was born from the intertwining of the culture of black, indigenous and European peoples. This Cultural Manifestation is full of senses and meanings, in which ancestral knowledge is transmitted. It is constituted as: popular culture, music, dance, work, leisure and religiosity. The objective of the work is to understand the importance of Carimbó as a Cultural Performance for the people of Pará, and its relationship between religiosity and knowledge transmission. It is, therefore, a study in the field of Cultural Performances, since the carimbó has multiple dimensions, requiring several areas of knowledge to understand the object. What is the meaning and significance of this popular culture for the people of Pará? How is the carimbó constituted as religiosity and knowledge transmission? We opted for a Qualitative approach, with a field study as the research procedure. The work is constituted as dense ethnographic research. These intertwining and religious conflicts, present in this Cultural Manifestation, sometimes complement each other, sometimes they differ, sometimes they resist and it becomes something “new”.
