Abstract: The border strip operations are characterized by taking a place, generally, in an interagency environment. Thus, inspired by the North American model of fusion centers, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security inaugurated on December 16, 2019, the Integrated Border Operations Center (CIOF) in Foz do Iguaçu, in Paraná. Therefore, in what way did CIOF members interact with military personnel on the western border of the state of Paraná, during the first year of the existence of this coordination and control structure? This is the research question of this work, which aimed to verify the main contributions and obstacles regarding the participation of the Armed Forces with this integrated center, regarding the performance of operations in the border strip, a subsidiary mission assigned to the Navy, to the Army and Air Force, according to the Federal Constitution. We sought to carry out a study using the qualitative methodology, based on the technique of content analysis, watching primary and secondary sources. In this investigation, field research was carried out through questions made to the Federal Police Chief Emerson Antônio Rodrigues, coordinator of CIOF; and to Colonel of the Brazilian Army Marcelo de Melo Pontes Feliciano, commander, in the years 2019 and 2020, of the 34th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, also located in the city of Foz do Iguaçu. In its first year of operation, the center has proven to be a good tool for strengthening integration between the various agencies on the triple border. The main contribution to the work of the Armed Forces in this region was to identify the CIOF as an excellent source of information and an important place of support for interagency operations, while the COVID- 19 pandemic proved to be the main obstacle for the development of work in the CIOF.
