AS ILHAS DE CALOR E SUA RELAÇÃO COM A QUALIDADE DE VIDA NAS CIDADES: A IMPORTÂNCIA DAS ÁREAS VERDES
Dentro dos elementos do clima urbano, a presente pesquisa teve como foco as ilhas de calor e sua influência na qualidade de vida urbana, podendo criar desconforto térmico, baixa produtividade mental e em casos extremos, estarem associadas à morte por ataque cardíaco. Para tal, a pesquisa baseou-se em levantamentos bibliográficos para fundamentar a temática. As ilhas de calor, que podem se manifestar em pontos distintos no mundo, são mais comuns em grandes cidades especialmente na sua porção central por ser o ambiente onde existe uma grande concentração de edifícios, muitos deles com baixo nível de albedo. No caso do Brasil, país onde o processo de industrialização contribuiu para um crescimento urbano desordenado o pressuposto não é diferente. Por meio do estudo foi possível constatar que as ilhas de calor podem afetar a qualidade de vida de modos distintos, sendo necessário criar meios para mitigar as consequências delas, sendo a implementação de áreas verdes o principal e mais barato instrumento para mitigação deste fenômeno.

Abstract:
Within the elements of the urban climate, the present research focused on heat islands and their influence on the quality of urban life, which can create thermal discomfort, low mental productivity and in extreme cases, be associated with death from heart attack. For this, a research was based on bibliographic surveys to fundamentalize the theme. Heat islands, which can manifest themselves at different points in the world, are more common in large cities, especially in its central portion, as it is the environment where there is a high concentration of buildings, many of them with low levels of albedo. In the case of Brazil, a country where the industrialization process contributed to a disorderly urban growth, the assumption is no different. Through the study it was possible to verify that the heat islands can affect the quality of life in different ways, being necessary to create means to mitigate the consequences of them, being the implementation of green areas the main and cheapest instrument to mitigate this phenomenon.
