Abstract: The area of knowledge of Natural Sciences can and should be added to the other areas worked on in the schooling process to permeate the changes that are urgent in relation to the preconceptions, arising from colonialism, about the culture and traditional knowledge of indigenous peoples. This article aims to promote reflections on the contributions that the Science curricular component, from the perspective of Ethnoastronomy, can offer in Elementary School - Final years, allowing students to move towards overcoming the idea that science only covers academic scientific knowledge and that this overlaps with the traditional knowledge of our native peoples. In this sense, through the study of this content, which is included in the Curriculum of the state network of Paraná, specifically in the 9th years, students can be led to realize that indigenous peoples have intrinsic values to nature and, because of this knowledge, they can contribute for a sustainable and balanced relationship with the environment, an object of concern in our current society. By following this path, we understand that the student's protagonism is central to the processes of recognizing cultural diversity and the need for interculturality and through it, they will be able to develop mechanisms to better act in society in a critical way and even incorporate them into their actions a conscious process of decoloniality. To this end, the research was based on a bibliographical review that covered books, articles and works from published events, where we sought, inspired by Freirean epistemology, to analyze and discuss the topic.
