AS CONTRIBUIÇÕES DA MODELAGEM MATEMÁTICA NO CONTEXTO DE UMA SALA DE AULA DO 9° ANO DO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL
O presente trabalho tem como objetivos apresentar os primeiros resultados de uma pesquisa sobre a Modelagem Matemática como metodologia alternativa de ensino da matemática e investigar suas possíveis contribuições no processo de ensinar e aprender matemática, tendo como foco alunos do 9° do ensino fundamental. A pesquisa realizada é de cunho qualitativo e de caráter exploratório, fundamentada nos princípios de modelagem na perspectiva de Bassanezi, Barbosa, Biembengut e Hein, entre outros. Com o intuito de atingir os objetivos propostos foi desenvolvida uma atividade usando a Modelagem Matemática em uma turma de 9° ano do ensino fundamental. Os alunos escolheram como tema da atividade “construção de casa”, formularam um problema relacionado ao volume do concreto necessário para encher a laje de uma casa, criaram um modelo matemático e resolveram. Pode-se perceber o aumento do interesse e participação dos alunos durante as atividades de modelagem.

Abstract:
The present work has as objectives to present the first results of a research on Mathematical Modeling as an alternative methodology of teaching mathematics and investigate its possible contributions in the process of teaching and learning mathematics, focusing on students from the 9th grade. The research carried out is qualitative and exploratory, based on the modeling principles from Bassanezi, Barbosa, Biembengut and Hein, among others. In intent to reach the proposed objectives, we developed an activity using Mathematical Modeling in a 9th grade elementary school class. The students chose, as an activity theme, "constructing a house" and formulate a problem related to the volume of concrete needed to fill a slab of a house, created a mathematical model and solved it. We clearly noticed an increase of the interest and participation of the students during the activities of modeling.
