AS CÂMARAS MUNICIPAIS DA CAPITANIA DE MATO GROSSO: ETIQUETA, HONRA E PRESTÍGIO
Neste artigo analisamos as festas e celebrações públicas promovidas pelas câmaras municipais da capitania de Mato Grosso, no século XVIII. Essas manifestações eram representações políticas e culturais vigentes no Império português. Para essa análise, consultamos fontes manuscritas, de cunho politico - administrativo. Na análise, evidenciamos que nos momentos festivos, as hierarquias sociais eram reafirmadas e cada segmento social possuía seu lugar próprio nos espaços celebrativos, nas etapas rituais. Isso exibiu a etiqueta social vigente e os códigos sociais de honra e prestígio.

Abstract:
In this article we analyze the festivals and public celebrations promoted by the municipal councils of the Mato Grosso captaincy in the 18th century. These manifestations were political and cultural representations in force in the Portuguese Empire. For this analysis, we consulted handwritten sources of a political-administrative nature. In the analysis, we evidenced that in festive moments, social hierarchies were reaffirmed and each social segment had its own place in celebratory spaces, in ritual stages. This exhibited current social etiquette and social codes of honor and prestige.
