AS AMBIÊNCIAS DAS PRAÇAS: UM ESTUDO DAS PRAÇAS SÃO SALVADOR E QUATRO JORNADAS EM CAMPOS DOS GOYTACAZES - RJ
O PRESENTE ARTIGO É UMA ADAPTAÇÃO DO ESTUDO REALIZADO PARA O SEGUNDO CAPÍTULO DE MINHA DISSERTAÇÃO DE MESTRADO, NO QUAL INVESTIGO AS DIVERSAS AMBIÊNCIAS QUE CONSTITUEM AS PRAÇAS SÃO SALVADOR E QUATRO JORNADAS, NA CIDADE DE CAMPOS DOS GOYTACAZES. PARA A REALIZAÇÃO DESSA PESQUISA FREQUENTEI AMBAS AS PRAÇAS DURANTE MOMENTOS DISTINTOS, ALTERNANDO DIAS E HORÁRIOS, NO PERÍODO ENTRE DEZEMBRO DE 2018 E ABRIL DE 2019. O OBJETIVO FOI COMPREENDER COMO AS AMBIÊNCIAS DE SEUS ESPAÇOS MODIFICAM-SE CONSTANTEMENTE, ALTERANDO AS PERCEPÇÕES DOS USUÁRIOS E AFETANDO OS USOS E APROPRIAÇÕES. A RELEVÂNCIA DESTE ESTUDO ENCONTRA-SE NA COMPREENSÃO DE QUE AS CARACTERÍSTICAS DOS ESPAÇOS CRIAM MÚLTIPLOS CONTEXTOS, PROPORCIONANDO DIVERSOS TIPOS DE USO, OU MESMO DE DESUSO DO ESPAÇO PÚBLICO URBANO. ASSIM, EVIDENCIA-SE A FORTE RELAÇÃO ENTRE ESCOLHAS PROJETUAIS ARQUITETÔNICAS, PERCEPÇÕES SENSORIAIS DO ESPAÇO E EXPERIÊNCIAS URBANAS.

Abstract:
The present article is an adaptation of the study conducted for the second chapter of my master's dissertation, in which I investigate the several ambiences that constitute the São Salvador and Quatro Jornadas squares, in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes. To carry out this research I frequented both squares during distinct moments, alternating days and times, in the period between December 2018 and April 2019. The goal was to understand how the ambiences of their spaces are constantly changing, altering users' perceptions and affecting uses and appropriations. The relevance of this study lies in the understanding that the characteristics of the spaces create multiple contexts, providing different types of use, or even disuse of urban public space. Thus, it is evident the strong relationship between architectural design choices, sensory perceptions of space, and urban experiences.
