Abstract: This text, through the inter-transdisciplinary involvement of high school, technical and higher education students from the Polytechnic College of the Federal University of Santa Maria/UFSM, a proposal carried out at different stages and moments, with the aim of raising society's awareness of preservation of the cemetery patrimony. Here, the objective is to present the method used to collect data in the construction of the material that will be stored in a virtual museum, another stage of the proposal. For its development, visits were made to the Municipal Ecumenical Cemetery of Santa Maria/RS, where the recognition, identification, registration and georeferencing of its cemetery art was carried out. Geotechnology tools were needed to help collect information to build the databases. We opted for the photogrammetry and 3D scanning technique. The photogrammetry method consists of transforming two-dimensional data (x.y) from photographs taken with a cell phone into three-dimensional information (x, y, z), using camera orientation parameters, such as positioning at different angles along the perimeter of the sculpture, that is, a sequence of images was created that will be later treated with agisoft metashape software. The images, after treatment, will give rise to sculptures in 3D format. So far, it has been possible to observe the cultural richness present in this “open-air museum”, as well as the current disregard for this patrimony. It is noteworthy that the space has significant potential for tourism and that, with the support of different social spheres, the space would not be forgotten by the social collective.
