Abstract: This work proposes the development of an automated system using the Arduino platform to control artificial lighting in hydroponic lettuce cultivation. Modern agriculture faces challenges related to the availability of natural resources and the need for sustainable production in urban environments. Hydroponics, combined with automation, emerges as a promising alternative. The proposal consists of comparing two NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) systems: one with natural lighting and the other with artificial lighting automatically controlled by light sensors. The goal is to maximize energy efficiency and plant growth through the intelligent activation of artificial light, only when necessary. The system provides better vegetative performance and reduces energy consumption, becoming an accessible and replicable solution for small producers and environments with limited natural light.
