ARCABOUÇO INSTITUCIONAL FRENTE ÀS TRANSFORMAÇÕES RECENTES NA AGRICULTURA NO ESTADO DO AMAPÁ
O processo recente de expansão
da produção de soja para a Amazônia
corresponde a uma transformação significativa
para a economia regional. O reduzido valor
das terras, aliado a um exitoso conjunto de
tecnologias foram os vetores que promoveram
este movimento. Tais transformações vêm
desencadeando consequências provenientes
do processo de desbravamento da fronteira.
Neste passo, destaca-se a importância do
ambiente institucional para o desenvolvimento
das atividades econômicas. Verifica-se que,
no caso do Amapá, as condições institucionais
pré-existentes não estão suficientemente
adequadas ao novo contexto. O presente artigo
aborda questões relevantes que representam
significativos entraves ao desenvolvimento da
produção de soja no Amapá, e refletem o caráter
embrionário da estrutura institucional estadual.O objetivo é destacar os problemas advindos
do pioneirismo inerente ao desenvolvimento
da agricultura empresarial em uma área de
fronteira na Amazônia

Abstract:
The recent process of expanding
soybean production to the Amazon region
corresponds to a significant transformation
for the regional economy. The reduced value
of land, coupled with a successful set of
technologies were the vectors that promoted this
movement. Such transformations have triggered
consequences from the process of clearing
the border. In this step, the importance of the
institutional environment for the development
of economic activities is highlighted. In the
case of Amapá, the pre-existing institutional
conditions are not sufficiently adequate for the
new context. The present article addresses
relevant issues that represent significant
obstacles to the development of soybean
production in Amapá, and reflect the embryonic
nature of the state institutional structure. The
objective is to highlight the problems arising
from the pioneering inherent in the development
of business agriculture in a frontier area in the
Amazon.
