Abstract: In this chapter it is analyzed the importance of education as a factor to social mobility and how it affects the learning of vulnerable students, making it necessary to implement active teaching methodologies to achieve more motivated students and deep learning. The use of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) methodology as a teaching-learning tool is studied and a specific application is presented with the projects presented by first-year students of a health career at a private Chilean university. The results obtained from this experience coincide with what was found in the literature, regarding the development of transversal skills through this methodology, as well as the obtaining of better ratings and significant learning.
