APONTAMENTOS SOBRE A ATIVIDADE DE MONITORIA DA DISCIPLINA DE QUÍMICA GERAL PARA ALUNOS DE CIÊNCIAS BIOLÓGICAS
A monitoria como atividade
acadêmica surgiu nas universidades brasileiras
em meados do século 20, e vem consolidandose
em função da melhoria da qualidade dos
processos de ensino e de aprendizagem,
representando um espaço de formação para o
monitor e para o próprio professor orientador.
O trabalho apresentado aqui faz uma análise
preliminar da atividade de monitoria na disciplina
de Química Geral e Inorgânica, dos Cursos
de Bacharelado e Licenciatura em Ciências
Biológicas da Regional Jataí da Universidade
Federal de Goiás. A percepção do discente foi
coletada por um questionário aplicado a uma
amostra dos alunos que cursaram a disciplina
de Química Geral e Inorgânica no segundo
semestre de 2016, visando os aspectos sobre a
experiência e afinidade com Química no Ensino
Médio, assim como a relevância da Química
para a formação do aluno e a contribuição da
monitoria no processo ensino-aprendizagem
na disciplina. As respostas do questionário
indicaram uma provável correlação entre o
desempenho do estudante e a sua experiência
do Ensino Médio. Os dados também parecem
indicar que alguns casos de baixo rendimento
não se traduzem em maior esforço para
superá-las e apontam a atuação da monitoria
como muito positiva no auxílio na compreensão
dos conteúdos. Destacamos também o papel
fundamental da monitoria na formação do
monitor, despertando no mesmo a valorização
e o gosto pela docência no ensino superior.

Abstract:
Monitoring as an academic activity
emerged in Brazilian universities in the middle
of the 20th century, and has been consolidated
in function of improving the quality of teaching
and learning processes, representing a space
for training for the instructor and the instructor.
The work presented here makes a preliminary
analysis of the monitoring activity in the
discipline of General and Inorganic Chemistry,
of the Bachelor's Courses and Licenciatura in Biological Sciences of the Jataí
Regional of the Federal University of Goiás. The student's perception was collected
by a questionnaire applied to a sample of the students who attended the discipline of
General and Inorganic Chemistry in the second half of 2016, aiming at the aspects on
the experience and affinity with Chemistry in High School, as well as the relevance of
Chemistry for the formation of the student and the contribution of the monitoring in the
process teaching-learning in the discipline. The answers of the questionnaire indicated
a probable correlation between the performance of the student and his experience of
High School. The data also seem to indicate that these deficiencies do not translate
into greater effort to overcome them and point to the performance of monitoring as very
positive in helping to understand the contents. We also emphasize the fundamental
role of monitoring in the formation of the monitor, awakening in it the appreciation and
the taste for teaching in higher education.
