Abstract: Aim: to describe the mobile applications available for monitoring people's heart rate (HR). Method: This is a technological survey. The electronic search was conducted from March to May 2021 in the Google Play® online shops with the Android® operating system and the Apple Store® with the iOs® operating system in the search field of these shops, in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The information was processed using content analysis. A comparative qualitative analysis was used, considering the apps' functionalities, evaluation, user comments and their potential for monitoring CF. Results: Two guiding categories were drawn up: apps that measure HR and apps that serve as a channel for receiving data from medical devices and/or only monitor it by recording it. Fifty-seven apps were included, of which 78.95 per cent (45) checked HR and 21.05 per cent (12) only monitored HR by recording and graphing it. Conclusion: HR apps serve to measure, record, display, inform, guide and share information. They have the potential to measure heart rate directly, but there is a lack of studies to prove their effectiveness in their various applications.
