Abstract: Assessment strategies for following behaviours of growing in length and weight, densities, survival, among others, must be needed in aquaculture species. Therefore, it is essential to get the more real information, in this case on growing of the species cultured. One of the models applied for these purposes is the Von Bertalanffy model, which was, primarily, used to assess the growth of species belonged to different fisheries. As a consequence, it is proposed to apply this model to assess the growing of the specie, in this case “giant freshwater prawn”, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, subjected to a semi-intensive culturing. For this purpose, 250 juveniles were seeded in each pond (37 square meters). Initial density was 6,7 individuals per square meter. Average size of juveniles was 34,21 mm and 0,23169 g. Three feeding treatment were essayed with two replicates: Treatment (A) fish meal (40%) + rice bran (60%); Treatment (B) giant squid meal (40%) + rice bran (60%); and Treatment (C) no feeding. At month 5, treatment A and B got the highest size (162,35 and 160,93 mm respectively) and Asinthotic lengths of 385,65 and 448,53 mm respectively.
