Abstract: The study and implementation of new methods for removing endocrine disruptors in aqueous matrices are currently of great relevance, primarily due to the increased detection of anomalies posing risks to both the ecosystem and human health. This is especially significant as these disruptors are not completely eliminated by traditional water treatment systems. In this context, the use of biochar (BC) emerges as a simple and cost-effective solution to address these issues. The objective of this study was to evaluate the estrone removal capacity from aqueous matrices using BC derived from the pyrolysis of rice husk (RH).
