APLICAÇÃO DA METODOLOGIA SINGLE MINUTE EXCHANGE OF DIE (SMED) PARA A REDUÇÃO DO TEMPO DE SETUP EM UMA INDÚSTRIA METAL MECÂNICA
O mercado tem estimulado uma
competitividade que cresce ano após ano,
impulsionando as organizações na busca por
uma redução de custos para se manterem
atuantes no mercado. Assim, objetivo deste
trabalho é desenvolver um estudo quanto aos
benefícios obtidos com aplicação metodologia
(Single Minute Exchange of Die) SMED em
uma empresa fabricante de triciclos, que para
fins de confidencialidade do mesmo, designarse-
á, na presente pesquisa como Empresa
Ômega, analisando a contribuição que este
instrumento oferece para a redução do tempo
de setup e para o aumento da produtividade do
empreendimento, além disso, evidenciar o auxílio
desta metodologia no processo de tomada de
decisão dos problemas enfrentados na linha de
produção do empreendimento. Por isso, a fim de
tornar a concretização visível aos colaboradores
da empresa, nessa análise foi utilizado
formulários de maneira descritiva e qualitativa,
pois essas formas pesquisa permitem maior
interação com o cotidiano da linha de produção
organizacional. Através desta pesquisa foi
possível analisar que a metodologia SMED
pode ser identificada como uma ferramenta
que mostra ser eficiente principalmente para o
atual ambiente competitivo, já que possibilita a
redução do tempo de troca de ferramenta nas
indústrias, além de minimizar a complexidade
nos processos de manufatura e auxilia na tomar
decisões quanto a uma demanda imprevisível.

Abstract:
The market has stimulated a
competitiveness that grows year after year,
boosting the organizations in the search for a
reduction of costs to remain active in the market.
Thus, the objective of this work is to develop a
study on the benefits obtained with application
SMED methodology in a tricycle manufacturer,
which for purposes of confidentiality of the same,
will be referred to in this research as Company
Omega, analyzing the contribution that this
instrument offers to the reduction of the setup
time and to the increase of the productivity of
the enterprise, in addition, to show the aid of this
methodology in the process of decision making
of the problems faced in the production line of the enterprise. Therefore, in order to
make the realization visible to employees of the company, in this analysis forms were
used in a descriptive and qualitative way, because these research forms allow greater
interaction with the daily production organizational line. Through this research it was
possible to analyze that the SMED methodology can be identified as a tool that shows to
be efficient mainly for the current competitive environment, since it allows the reduction
of the time of tool change in the industries, besides minimizing the complexity in the
manufacturing processes and helps you make decisions about unpredictable demand
