Abstract: Congenital defects represent deviations from normal morphology or function, and their etiology is often unknown. This case report aimed to describe congenital perineal abnormalities in a pediatric canine. A two-month-old female Pug presented with a genital alteration noted since birth and was submitted to physical examination. Perineal evaluation revealed segmental vulvar aplasia, characterized by agenesis of the dorsal portion of the vulvar lips and the corresponding commissure, along with exposure of the vestibular and vaginal mucosa. Agenesis of the ventral segment of the anal sphincter was also observed. The owner did not authorize surgical intervention, and palliative management was instituted, consisting of local antisepsis with 1% triclosan soap and mechanical protection of the affected area. It is emphasized that, in pediatric canines, recognizing congenital anomalies and carefully assessing the true need for corrective intervention is essential.
