Anthropic activities and emerging pollutants, physicochemical and microbiological properties in the Chumbao River, Peru
A província de Andahuaylas está localizada em Apurímac que é uma região peruana nos Andes. Andahuaylas tem três distritos importantes: San Jerónimo, Andahuaylas e Talavera. Estas zonas são muito povoadas e as suas edificações encontram-se junto ao rio Chumbão. O estudo teve como objetivo determinar a influência das atividades antrópicas na concentração de agrotóxicos, características físico-químicas e microbiológicas do rio Chumbão. As atividades antrópicas estudadas foram 19 pesticidas organoclorados e 25 pesticidas organofosforados. Além disso, foram estudadas 18 propriedades físico-químicas e 2 microbiológicas em sete pontos de amostragem ao longo do rio Chumbão durante a estação chuvosa e seca. Produtos veterinários e agrícolas foram identificados nas atividades agrícolas. No entanto, não encontrou valores significativos de concentração de pesticidas. Quanto às propriedades físico-químicas e microbiológicas, algumas delas estão acima dos padrões de qualidade ambiental de acordo com as normas vigentes, que são aumentadas nos pontos onde há descarte de efluentes. Há uma deterioração progressiva da qualidade da água do rio Chumbão, que é causada pelas atividades antrópicas que são realizadas na bacia. É possível que essa seja a causa de doenças infecciosas e parasitárias na população.

Abstract:
The province of Andahuaylas is located in Apurímac which is a Peruvian region in the Andes. Andahuaylas has three important districts: San Jerónimo, Andahuaylas and Talavera. These areas are very populated and their buildings are near the Chumbao river. The study aimed to determine the influence of anthropic activities in the concentration of pesticides, physicochemical and microbiological characteristics in the Chumbao river. The Anthropic activities studied were 19 organochlorine pesticides and 25 organophosphate pesticides. Also, it was studied 18 physicochemical and 2 microbiological properties at seven sampling points along the Chumbao river during the rainy and dry season. Veterinary and agricultural products were identified in the agricultural activities. However, it has not found significant values of pesticide concentration. About the physicochemical and microbiological properties some of them are above the environmental quality standards according to current regulations, which are increased at points where there is wastewater discharge. There is a progressive deterioration of the water quality in the Chumbao river, which is caused by the anthropic activities that are carried out in the basin. It is possible that this is the cause of infectious and parasitic diseases in the population
