Abstract: The present study proposes to analyze some factors that have led, specifically, mathematics undergraduates to develop mathematics anxiety, as well as matophobia, in the same way to see how these problems interfere and harm the student's education. For the foundation of the work we used some international and also Brazilian authors who have already studied the subject of mathematics anxiety in depth, such as Dreger and Aiken (1957); Tobias (1978); Carmo and Simionato (2012). Thus, like Felicetti and Giraffa (2007); Seymour Papert (1988) who have done studies on Matophobia. The research is of a qualitative and quantitative nature, as we consider them the most satisfactory to work with the data, obtaining their meanings. Data collection took place through the application of a questionnaire in the 2019 and 2020 mathematics classes at the State University of Pará - Campus XIV in the municipality of Moju-Pa.
