ANGINA DE LUDWING: RELATO DE CASO CLÍNICO
A Angina de Ludwig é uma
celulite tóxica, aguda e geralmente de origem
odontogênica que envolve os espaços fasciais
submandibular e sublingual bilateralmente,
além do espaço submentual, provocando o
enrijecimento do assoalho bucal, dificuldade
na deglutição, elevação da língua e risco de
obstrução das vias aéreas. Sua sintomatologia
inclui dor, aumento de volume em região cervical,
disfagia, odinofagia, trismo, edema do assoalho
bucal, protrusão lingual, febre e linfadenopatia.
Os exames por tomografia computadorizada
e ressonância magnética indicam a extensão
da lesão, o comprometimento das vias aéreas
e a presença de gases entremeados nos
tecidos musculares. O tratamento concentrase
em manutenção das vias aéreas, incisão
e drenagem, antibioticoterapia e eliminação
do fator causal. O presente trabalho tem
como objetivo, apresentar um caso clínico de
Angina de Ludwing, ressaltando o potencial
de letalidade dessa enfermidade. Conclui-se
que é de extrema importância o diagnóstico e
intervenção cirúrgica precoce para conservação
da vida do paciente.

Abstract:
Ludwig’s Angina is a toxic, acute
and usually odontogenic cellulitis that involves
the submandibular and sublingual spaces
bilaterally, in addition to the submental space,
provoking the stiffening of the buccal floor,
difficulty in swallowing, tongue elevation and
risk of airway obstruction . Its symptoms include
increased volume in the cervical region, dysphagia, odynophagia, trismus, buccal
edema, lingual protrusion, fever and lymphadenopathy. Computed tomography and
magnetic resonance imaging tests indicate the extent of the lesion, the involvement of
the airways and the presence of interspaced gases in the muscle tissues. The contract
focuses on maintenance of the airways, incision and drainage, antibiotic therapy and
removal of the causal factor. The objective of this study is to present a clinical case of
Angina de Ludwing, highlighting the potential for lethality of the disease. We conclude
that it is extremely va- lence and early surgical diagnosis for the care of the patient’s
life.
