O Brasil é o maior produtor e exportador de laranja e suco de laranja do mundo, consequentemente um dos maiores produtores de resíduos deste fruto do mundo. O uso do extrato vegetal de um dos seus insumos, que é a casca da laranja chama atenção por ser rico em compostos fenólicos, estes exercem atividades biológicas diversas; Nesta direção, este estudo visa eventualmente despertar interesse a esse descarte, bem como, uma possibilidade da inclusão do seu extrato vegetal como um fitoproduto, fitocosmético ou fitoterápico a indústrias farmacêuticas e alimentícias, pois, consigo apresentam atividades antioxidantes, anti-inflamatórias, antifúngicas e antimicrobianas, além disso, uma gama de estudos realizados e ainda em execução se fazem presentes.

Abstract:
Brazil is the largest producer and exporter of oranges and orange juice in the world, consequently one of the largest producers of waste from this fruit in the world. The use of plant extract of one of its inputs, which is the orange peel, draws attention because it is rich in phenolic compounds, which exert different biological activities; In this direction, this study aims to eventually arouse interest in this disposal, as well as a possibility of including its plant extract as a phytoproduct, phytocosmetic or phytotherapeutic to pharmaceutical and food industries, as they present antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antifungal and antimicrobials, in addition, a range of studies carried out and still in progress are present.
