Abstract: . Manual handling of loads is the origin of musculoskeletal injuries and pain, which cause low back pain in the employee. This justifies the need to accurately evaluate the worker's efforts, by virtue of; that it is about taking care of the physical integrity and quality of life of the same. The NIOSH equation meets the stated objective of identifying and reducing ergonomic risks and preventing injuries. The results are: The Recommended Weight Limit (RWL) is equal to 8.89 and the Lift Index (IL) is equal to 2.33. This is because the activity at the destination of the cargo requires significant control. Based on the evaluation criteria of the equation, it is concluded that the evaluated activity presents a moderate risk (1<IL<3), and that it can cause injuries when performing these functions, so the task must be redesigned. The physical conditions of the environment were in the ideal ranges. Therefore, temperature, as well as relative humidity, presented values of 26 °C and 48% respectively. With respect to the ground, it is not completely smooth, so the friction index μ>0.4. The stability of the load was verified.
