Abstract: The success of online education largely depends on the role of the tutor. Their role goes beyond transmitting knowledge and directly influences student motivation and satisfaction. This study explored how Public Accounting students perceived their online tutors at a public university in Mexico. Through a descriptive analysis, strengths and weaknesses were identified in the performance of academic, pedagogical, guidance, technical, and social functions. The results of the study support decision-making to design continuing education programs that optimize the performance of tutors and ensure quality learning experience.
