ANÁLISIS COGNITIVO DE ESTUDIANTES DE INGENIERÍA EN LA RESOLUCIÓN DE UN PROBLEMA MATEMÁTICO
La presente investigación contribuye al conocimiento de los aspectos cognitivos relacionados al aprendizaje de las matemáticas. Se describe un estudio de carácter cualitativo realizado sobre el funcionamiento cognitivo de un grupo de estudiantes de ingeniería, cuando abordan la resolución de un problema de cálculo de dos variables. Se presentan los referentes teóricos y el análisis de la forma en que se manifiestan las funciones cognitivas puestas en juego en el acto mental de la solución del problema. Los resultados muestran cómo el funcionamiento cognitivo afecta la forma en que los alumnos comprenden e interpretan los elementos conceptuales en cada fase del proceso de solución.

Abstract:
This research contributes to the knowledge of the cognitive aspects related to the learning of mathematics. A qualitative study carried out on the cognitive functioning of a group of engineering students is described, when they address the resolution of a calculus with two variables problem. The theoretical referents and the analysis of the way in which the cognitive functions put into play are manifested in the mental act of solving the problem are presented. The results show how cognitive functioning affects the way students understand and interpret the conceptual elements in each phase of the solution process.
