ANÁLISES ESTATÍSTICAS PARA INVESTIGAR POSSÍVEIS FATORES QUE INFLUENCIAM NA EVASÃO DE DISCENTES NO ENSINO SUPERIOR
Neste artigo foram investigados os fatores que influenciam na evasão acadêmica, visto que este é um dos principais problemas enfrentados pelas Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES). As variáveis analisadas foram: cursos, candidato/curso (concorrência), no primeiro e segundo semestre, e evasão. Para tal, foram utilizados métodos estatísticos como coeficiente de correlação e análise descritiva dos dados. Todas as análises foram realizadas pelo software estatístico R-studio. Os resultados mostraram que existe correlação forte negativa entre as variáveis concorrência e evasão acadêmica, evidenciando que cursos com menores procuras são os que têm maiores evasões. Outrossim, os cursos que são mais procurados têm menos desistências.

Abstract:
This article investigated the influencing factors in academic dropout, once it is one of the main problems faced by Higher Education Institutions (IES). The variables courses, candidate / course (competition), in the first and second semesters, and dropout were analyzed. For this, statistical methods were used, such as correlation coefficient and descriptive data analysis. All analyzes were performed using the statistical software R-studio and the results showed that there is a strong negative correlation between the variables competition and academic dropout, showing that courses with less demand are those with higher dropouts. Furthermore, courses that are more in demand have fewer dropouts.
