Abstract: Objective: To analyze notifications of cases of violence against women in the state of Piauí from 2013 to 2022. Method: A quantitative, descriptive, and time-trend study conducted with women aged 15 years or older who were victims of violence and residents of the state of Piauí. Data were obtained from a secondary database covering the years 2013 to 2022, recorded in the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN). Results: Physical (78.8%), psychological (76.8%), sexual (52.6%), property-related (81.7%), and other forms of violence (72.0%) were concentrated in the 20–59-year age group. When the means of aggression were evaluated, all types were concentrated in the 20–39-year age group, with percentages exceeding 70% in all cases. Annual temporal analysis of the age-group variable revealed an increase among adolescents and across all age groups when comparing 2013 with 2022. Regarding the type of violence, the study period showed an overall increase, except for physical violence, which decreased from 2,050 cases in 2013 to 1,510 cases; however, when comparing the last biennium (2021/2022), all variables showed an increase. Threats as a means of aggression, although showing a reduction from 2013 to 2022, remained the most significant (p < 0.05). Discussion: The findings of this study identified a growing number of cases of violence against women in the state of Piauí, Brazil, from 2013 to 2022. This increase may also be related to the fact that women are more encouraged to report their aggressors, as this phenomenon has gained greater visibility in recent years and has increasingly become a topic in the media and global discussions, thus highlighting the seriousness of this problem. Conclusion: This study demonstrates an increasing trend in cases of violence among women aged 20 to 59 years, with sexual violence being the most prevalent and rapidly increasing type, often involving threats as a means of coercion. The importance of continuing studies on this topic is evident due to its relevance; violence against women is a public health problem that must be addressed through debate and the implementation of strategies aimed at reducing the incidence of cases.
