ANÁLISE TEMPORAL DA COBERTURA VEGETAL UTILIZANDO O ÍNDICE (NDVI) PARA A ÁREA DE PROTEÇÃO AMBIENTAL DO TAPAJÓS NO ESTADO DO PARÁ

O objetivo deste trabalho foi apresentar a análise temporal de mudança da vegetação da Unidade de Conservação da Área de Proteção Ambiental do Tapajós, localizada no estado do Pará, no município de Itaituba. Para analisar a qualidade e variação da vegetação na área da UC, aplicou-se o índice espectral Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), para isso, foram utilizadas imagens do Landsat 5 (2008) e Landsat 8 (2022). De acordo com a análise, as mudanças de vegetação concentram-se na região sudoeste e noroeste da APA do Tapajós. Observou-se que a APA possui uma extensa área de cobertura vegetal e por isso torna-se prioritária para a concessão atendendo a demanda de extração madeireira do município de Novo Progresso e do Distrito de Moraes de Almeida.

  • Abstract: The objective of this study was to present a temporal analysis of vegetation change in the Tapajós Environmental Protection Area (APA), located in the state of Pará, in the municipality of Itaituba. To analyze the quality and variation of vegetation in the UC area, the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) spectral index was applied. For this, images from Landsat 5 (2008) and Landsat 8 (2022) were used. According to the analysis, vegetation changes are concentrated in the southwest and northwest regions of the Tapajós APA. It was observed that the APA has an extensive area of vegetation cover and, therefore, becomes a priority for granting concessions to meet the demand for timber extraction from the municipality of Novo Progresso and the Moraes de Almeida District
