ANÁLISE ICONOGRÁFICA DAS AÇÕES CÍVICO-SOCIAIS DO EXÉRCITO NA FRONTEIRA BRASIL/ARGENTINA NA DÉCADA DE 1970
Este capítulo têm o intuito de analisar
as ACISOs – Ações Cívico-Sociais realizadas na
década de 1970, na fronteira Brasil/Argentina,
através de parte do acervo iconográfico de uma
extinta unidade militar do Exército Brasileiro,
a 3ª Companhia do 33º Batalhão de Infantaria
Motorizada. Tal organização militar, batizada
pelo nome histórico de “Sentinelas do Sudoeste”,
foi implantada na cidade de Francisco Beltrão/
PR em meados da década de 1950, durante o
conflito agrário conhecido como Revolta dos
Posseiros; e, suprimida em 2001 por ocasião
dos novos redirecionamentos das Organizações
Militares que o Ministério da Defesa realizou
no início do século XXI, culminando em sua
substituição pelo 16º Esquadrão de Cavalaria
Mecanizado, oriundo de Passo Fundo/RS. Como
proposta de pesquisa, que acreditamos ser
uma contribuição inédita para a História Militar
brasileira, nos propomos em discutir – valendose como fonte primária do Álbum Fotográfico
da 3ª/33º BIMtz, que retrata a ações daquela
unidade militar durante década de 1970 – como
as ACISOs foram operacionalizadas numa
região sensível aos problemas de fronteira,
sendo atuações criteriosamente planejadas
como doutrina, e intentas, no sentido de
contribuir para a construção de um sentimento
comunitário em prol do Exército brasileiro como
instituição necessária, durante o Regime Militar
brasileiro.

Abstract:
This chapter intends to analyze
the ACISOs – Social Civic Actions carried out
in the 1970s, on the Brazilian/Argentine frontier,
through parto f the iconographic collection
of na extinct military unit of the Brazilian
Army, the 3rd Company fo the 33rd Infantry
Battalion Motorized. This military organization,
baptized by the historical name of “Sentinels
of the Southwest”, was implanted in the city of
Francisco Beltrão/PR in the meddle of the 1950s,
during the agrarian conflict known as Settler’s
Revolt; and supressed in 2001 on the occasion
of the new redirects of the Military Organizations
that the Ministry of Defense carried out at the
beginning of the 21st century, culminating in its
replacement by the 16h Mechanized Cavalry
Squadron, fron Passo Fundo/RS. As a research proposal, which we believe is na unprecedented contribution to the Brazilian Military
History, we propose to discuss – using as the primary source of the Photographic Album
of the 3rd/33th BIMtz, which portrays th actions of that military unit during the 1970s –
as the ACISOs were operationalized in a region sensitiv to the border problems, being
actions carefully planned as doctrine, in order to contribute to the construction of a
community sentiment in favor of the Brazilian Army as a necessary institution, during
the Brazilian Military Regime.
