Abstract: Laboratory distillers generate a large volume of water discarded by the cooling system, generally without prior analysis of its properties. This study evaluated the physicochemical characteristics of water discarded by a distiller at IFMT – Campus Barra do Garças, comparing it with tap water and distilled water. Flow rate, turbidity, pH, electrical conductivity, temperature, and total dissolved solids (TDS) were measured. The results indicate that the discarded water has a low ionic load, reduced turbidity, and a pH close to neutrality, placing it between tap water and distilled water. The data reinforce its potential for reuse in non-critical laboratory activities, contributing to the reduction of water waste.
