ANÁLISE FINANCEIRA E ECONÔMICA DO MUNICÍPIO DE CATALÃO-GO: UM ESTUDO DE CASO
Atualmente muitos municípios brasileiros apresentam dificuldades na execução de suas funções constitucionais devido ao elevado déficit fiscal e condição financeira insustentável. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo de analisar a situação financeira e econômica do município de Catalão, Estado de Goiás, no período de 2007 a 2017 a partir das demonstrações financeiras divulgadas. Para a consecução deste objetivo utilizou-se a análise de índices financeiros e econômicos municipais descritos por Andrade (2002). A partir da análise de índices constatouse que o município de Catalão-GO apresentou sólida condição financeira e econômica, boa liquidez e baixo endividamento no período, com capacidade suficiente para cumprir seus compromissos.

Abstract:
Currently many Brazilian municipalities present difficulties in the execution of their constitutional functions due to the high fiscal deficit and unsustainable financial condition. The objective of this study was to analyze the financial and economic situation of the municipality of Catalão, State of Goiás, from 2007 to 2017, based on the financial statements disclosed. In order to achieve this objective, the analysis of municipal financial and economic indexes described by Andrade (2002) was used. From the index analysis it was found that the municipality of Catalão-GO presented a solid financial and economic condition, good liquidity and low indebtedness in the period, with sufficient capacity to fulfill its commitments
