Abstract: Chagas disease is classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a neglected disease. The incidence of the pathology occurs due to several factors, including the lack of basic sanitation, lack of adequate food hygiene or the formation of colonies inside homes. The present study aims to analyze the spatiotemporal distribution of mortality due to Chagas disease in Ceará from 2012 to 2021. The data were obtained from the Mortality Information System (SIM) on the website of the Department of Information Technology of the Unified Health System (DataSUS). Based on the analysis of the data, it is essential to intensify prevention in order to avoid the emergence of new cases, with epidemiological and entomological surveillance actions, consistent educational measures and more effective control actions to combat the vector, mainly in the 10 municipalities of Ceará that presented the highest indicators of mortality due to Chagas disease.
