ANÁLISE E PERSPECTIVAS DO DESCARTE DE MEDICAMENTOS EM DOMICÍLIO: UMA REVISÃO DA LITERATURA
Introdução: O descarte de medicamentos é uma pauta decisória para as questões ambientais e para a segurança geral da população, que pode entram em contato com substâncias nocivas à saúde, resultante da decomposição desses medicamentos. Objetivo: sintetizar o conhecimento científico sobre os danos provocados pelo descarte inadequado de medicamentos em domicílio Metodologia: Tratou-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, a qual descreveu o “estado da arte” desse tema, sobre um ponto de vista teórico e contextual. Resultados: As evidências encontradas na literatura, sugerem que apesar de existirem políticas públicas para cuidar do descarte de medicamentos a população desconhece que dispensar esses fármacos em lixo comum pode ser um problema grave para a saúde pública e para o meio ambiente. Assim, é responsabilidade do poder público fomentar medidas que estimulem o descarte adequado, também é papel do farmacêutico a orientação e a promoção de saúde no uso racional de medicamentos e no descarte desses produtos.

Abstract:
Introduction: The disposal of medicines is a decision-making agenda for environmental issues and for the general safety of the population, which may come into contact with substances harmful to health, resulting from the decomposition of these medicines. Objective: to synthesize scientific knowledge about the damage caused by inappropriate disposal of medicines at home Methodology: This was an integrative literature review, which described the “state of the art” of this topic, from a theoretical and contextual point of view. Results: The evidence found in the literature suggests that although there are public policies to take care of the disposal of medicines, the population is unaware that dispensing these drugs in common waste can be a serious problem for public health and the environment. Thus, it is the responsibility of the government to promote measures that encourage proper disposal, it is also the role of the pharmacist to guide and promote health in the rational use of medicines and the disposal of these products.
